2011 - Under Renovation
- Details
- Created on July 06, 2011
At the beginning of the year, I felt that the Lord gave me Ps. 65:11 for the ministry.
You crown the year with Your goodness, and Your paths drip with abundance.
Abundance means plenty, richness, wealth, profusion, copiousness, lavishness, great quantity, loads. It has nothing to do with scarcity or lack.
Often we think of abundance only in relation to finances when in truth, abundance is meant for every area of our lives. Because we can put too much stock on what we see in the natural and we can think we don’t have abundance. The truth is God is always working behind the scenes to get us to a place where He CAN move abundantly in our lives.
Under Renovation
A word given to us before our conference in 2010 told us that we were under renovation. Have you ever done a renovation in your home? If so, you know it can be a long, messy process. When you are in the middle of it – you think it will never be over!
Since 2003 we have known that Aglow was undergoing transition – a shift happened at our Worldwide Conference in Indianapolis and we knew we had been set on a path of God’s choosing. Each conference since then has been a building block set one up on the other as God’s intentionality toward and in this ministry has become more and more evident. Aglow is His; He began it, He caused it to spread to the nations, and He continuously watches over it.
A couple of weeks ago, I was involved in meetings with some members of IBOD where we looked in earnest at what God is calling us to in this day. Who are we, where are we going, even WHO are we becoming? These are exciting days and, as we poured over the words God has spoken to this ministry, we feel a growing excitement over what God has stored up for our future. You will hear more from me at our Conference in Houston regarding the decisions that have been reached.
I want to encourage each National leader and Regional Committee leader to be in attendance during the International Council meetings on Wednesday and Thursday September 28-29th. This year, for the first time ever, we have also invited U.S. and International Area Leaders to be a part of these meetings.
New Staff Changes
Two of our interns, Andrea Boysun and Paul Slye, have moved to new places outside of Aglow. Paul accepted a full time job in Minnesota and Andrea has moved to Colorado to pursue the path God has for her. Both of them are wonderful young people who brought much to our office and we will greatly miss them.
Another huge change comes in our Generations Department. Evangeline Weiner, whom you all know and love, has resigned to pursue God as He unfolds direction for the next season of her life. We knew when Evangeline came to us to help grow the Generation Program that it would most likely be for a season. She has done a wonderful job of getting the ball rolling. We have seen groups spring up across the world as nations have responded to her call to the Generations. Though we will miss her, we bless her and pray for the new season that is unfolding in her life.
One Door Closes, Another Opens
When Evangeline announced her decision to resign from her position in Aglow, God was stirring an ember in the heart of a new Generations Director. Having walked with our in-house Generations Group, one of the young leaders expressed a desire to work with and continue building generations groups and young people around the world. It is with great delight that we announce that Anna Hammer has accepted the position of Generations Director.
For now, Anna will wear more than one hat as she continues to be Administrative Assistant to Linda Jones in the Worldwide Field Office – USA and also helps Diane Fink with registrations for A.I.M. Anna is the daughter of our Advisor, Pastor Dan Hammer. She has worked with the ministry for six years, having begun in the Finance Department. She has an amazing heart for the nations and for the generations. She is a young woman with a heart after God and is gifted at preaching and teaching. We are confident that you will welcome and love Anna and that she will move the Generation Project to the next level. Watch for exciting new tools to reach the young people around you.
As we move towards our Worldwide Conference in Houston, we know with a surety that God is up to something big with Aglow. Our future is secure as we continue to follow the Holy Spirit. His promise is that our latter years will be more fruitful than our former years. I pray that you will join us in Houston, Texas on Sept 29 – Oct 2, 2011, for The Sound from the Nations Conference.
Much love,
Jane Hansen Hoyt
